In cases when the shipment is palletized, the dimensions of the pallet determine the cubic dimension. Although the original dimensions and weight are those of the carton, the cubic dimension and total weight now include the pallet.
For example: Length=48", width=40" and height=36" (30" plus 6" of pallet); weight=125 pounds (95 lb. for the carton and approx. 30 lb. for the pallet).
The cubic dimension equals 40.00 cubic feet (Length*Width*Height/1728), while the density equals the total weight divided by the cubic dimension, equalling 3.125 pounds per cubic foot. The metric equivalents are also shown in the last two columns.
