MSM TRANSPORTATION RANKS HIGHEST IN CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AMONG CANADIAN SHIPPERS

Readers of leading logistics magazine name MSM their "Shippers Choice Award" winner for fourth straight year

BOLTON, Ont. (Nov. 7, 2005) -- MSM Transportation has achieved the highest ranking in customer satisfaction among Canadian less-than-truckload carriers for the fourth consecutive year, according to the readers of Canadian Transportation & Logistics magazine.

MSM Transportation, based in Bolton, Ont., ranked first or second in five of seven performance categories. The company also was No. 1 in on-time service and problem solving, and second in competitive pricing and value-added services.

The 2005 Shipper's Choice Awards survey is based on more than 6,000 carrier evaluations from 1,400 buyers of transportation services. The survey was conducted by G. Bramm and Associates, an independent research firm.

"Over the last 16 years, we've built our culture on excellent customer service," said Mike McCarron, managing partner of MSM Transportation. "Readers said customer satisfaction, on-time service, and competitive pricing are the three most important factors in evaluating carriers, and we agree. It's gratifying to know that we scored at or near the top in each, and to be recognized by shippers for providing the best customer service in the industry."

MSM Transportation is responsible for moving more than 50,000 LTL shipments a year between Canada and the United States. McCarron pointed to several initiatives as reasons for the company's consistently high marks for customer service:

• MSM Transportation combines a fleet of 50 trucks with the services of trusted partner carriers for the fastest less-than-truckload service between Canada and the United States. MSM trucks run regular schedules to New York/New Jersey, Dallas, Los Angeles, Jacksonville, and Atlanta, and partner carriers provide coverage anywhere in the 48 states and Canada.

• Satisfaction is 100% guaranteed or MSM pays the freight bill. "Our quality pledge extends to our partner carriers," McCarron said. "We audit and qualify those carriers for customer service."

• The company's damage claim ratio last year was 0.02%.

• MSM Transportation's commitment to cross-border security and efficiency includes approval under C-TPAT, FAST, and Partners in Protection.
