MSM staff showing their Christmas spirit by helping those less fortunate.
At MSM’s annual Christmas party, we charged each person attending $1 per drink. This money collected was then sent to the CP 24CHUM Children’s Wish Fund.
We are happy this year to be able to send a cheque in the amount of $910.00.
Our employees decided to change things up with how they do the Secret Santa Exchange. This year they would pick names as usual but instead buy a childs toy that best suits the person whose name was pulled. All toys collected were then donated to the CP 24 CHUM Christmas Wish fund.
Here's what one staff member had to say about it - "I’m sure there will be a lot of happy kids this Christmas – we all still got the excitement of opening a gift and the anticipation of what’s inside but then you get that warm feeling inside knowing that someone else less fortunate will be much more appreciative – way to go everyone !!!!! I think that this should be our new holiday tradition."
For more than 6 years MSM has been donating Trucks, Drivers, and Toys to the Rose Of Sharon!
The Rose of Sharon has been providing services for young mothers in the York Region since 1985. They offer a range of services to pregnant teens and young mothers who are under 25. They include: Individual Counselling, High School Classroom, ABC All Babies Count Prenatal Nutrition Programs, Group Programs, Children's Programs, a Food and Clothing Bank, “Connections” A Mentoring Program, and Second Step, a program linking young moms to early years programs.
Each year, Rose of Sharon Services for Young Mothers collects items from the community to create individualized Christmas baskets for young families across York Region.
At this years MSM's Childrens Christmas Party, MSM once again sent an invitation to the Caledon Community Services for needy families. Santa Claus was there taking time out from his busy schedule to hand each child a present and to pose with the child for pictures. There was close to 60 excited little kids jumping up on Santa's knee waiting to tell Santa what their Christmas wishes were.
