TORONTO (Feb. 2, 2009)—MSM Transportation, a leading provider of commercial transportation in the United States and Canada, has been named to the Platinum Club of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies program. The award recognizes sustained excellence in Canadian-owned and managed companies with revenues of more than $10 million and is sponsored by Deloitte, CIBC Commercial Banking, The National Post, and Queen's School of Business.
Platinum Club members must maintain their designation as one of Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies for at least six consecutive years, subject to annual operational and financial reviews. MSM has achieved Platinum Club status each year since becoming eligible in 2003.
“In commercial transportation, customers value consistency regardless of changing business conditions,” said Mike McCarron, managing partner at MSM. “This award recognizes our ability to sustain an exceptional level of growth, performance, and commitment to our customers year after year. We’re extremely proud of this achievement.”
Established in 1993, Canada's 50 Best Managed Companies award recognizes overall business performance across an entire organization. The selection process involves an extensive examination of a company's management practices.
Combined, Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies generated $6.4 billion in revenue and had an average revenue increase of 43% from 2006 to 2009.
